“If You are Not on the Web you Don’t Exist”
Video case study finds footwear entrepreneur David Price is an avid exponent of the web.
"Across all our various web businesses we’ll be turning over around 100 thousand pounds online which is quite chunky going really …" he tells viewers.
What emerges in the case study update produced by Mendip Media & Redpath Productions, is that David, owner of Cosyfeet, Look at My Crazy Shoes, Walk Tall to name but a few of his companies, is a practitioner of web retail. He has put his own money on the line, literally, and has learnt how ecommerce works the hard way.
"When it’s your money, you tend to work harder and scrutinise every penny … pay per click nearly did for us last year … you cannot take your eyes off your websites for a second …"
The key to his success is, he admits, taking the leap in the first place; when he did move his business online, he did it big. He now owns his own web studio with in-house programmers and designers. This allows him to react to web developments quickly.
"You can make it work online; it’s not necessarily the cheapest way to market – content is everything, and content is not cheap, but if you are not on the web don’t exist."
