Eight satisfied customers, one workshop. Kevin Redpath and I have been treading the boards for Connecting Somerset as part of our role as technical advisors to this important County Council initiative in supporting small business.
We’ve just completed a workshop on New Media, and more specifically showing business owners how to make product and services video for the web.
The workshop has been hands on, and really demonstrates to those who are interested in creating video content, some of the dos and don’ts of putting together a compelling video.
And as the eight delegates found out, unless you’ve got passion and bags of enthusiasm, it’s not that easy. I guess that’s how come Mendip Media can make a living out of advising and making professional corporate video as part of its online PR & comms services.
This was the reaction of one delegate, Sue Goldfield, “Nicky and Kevin were amazing – learnt masses and laughed a lot, what more can you ask. Great bunch of people the results of the ‘practical’ making a ‘commercial’ film were already out there on You Tube before we even had lunch. These Connecting Somerset events are really, really useful to me. Thank you to whoever is organising it and to whoever has the vision to put the financial support in place. ”
This leaves me with a warm glow. I hope the others found the workshop as useful as Sue. I know that we put in a lot of work in order to achieve the results. And we do it all pro bono!
