One company making the most of such opportunities is Littlewoods, which produced Littlewoods Live, a series of one-hour shows streamed live via its Facebook page.
The programmes covered a broad range of topics relating to Littlewoods products and included a show about home makeovers featuring Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.
Fans were on the Facebook page asking the king of interior decor questions in real time about their home dilemmas.
The result: Littlewoods continue to invest because they see a clear return on interactive internet streaming.
