Mendip Media supports Ape Action Africa as its chosen charity.
The organisation has been looking after the threatened primate population in Cameroon for nearly two decades. It operates from a large base in Mefou Forest just outside the capital Yaounde, and makes sure that over three hundred chimps, gorillas and monkeys at the centre are protected from poachers.
Tomorrow evening, Friday 7th October, Ape Action Africa will host the first of two events to raise money.
The Out of Africa Autumn Dinner is being hosted by wildlife presenter Miranda Krestovnikoff at Leigh Court in Bristol, and will help to raise the plight of primates on the verge of extinction because of illegal hunting, deforestation and disease.
