PENCILLING DATES

We are happy to pencil in dates for you and will contact you before any dates are released to a third party,

giving you the opportunity to secure the booking with payment. Once dates have been confirmed, an official

quote will be issued. We will try and work around your pencilled dates where possible, however, in the event

that a block booking enquiry comes in from a third party, we may have to release pencilled days without

notice if no payment has been received.

PAYMENT & SECURING DATES

If you decide that you wish to secure a date, we will issue an invoice for the full amount to be paid up to

48 hours in advance of the booking date. If full payment in advance is an issue, then please let us know, as

for longer hire periods, we will accept a deposit with the remainder to be paid upon completion of the hire.

PLEASE NOTE: Bookings are only confirmed and secured on receipt of payment. Any payment received is

non-refundable and non-transferable. If you encounter any issues with payment, please contact Nicky.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

Included in your basic studio hire is the 650 ft2 / 60 m2 studio, 4 x 1.5Kw dimmable space lights (tungsten/

non-extendable), single-phase electricity, 4 x polyboards, 7 x sandbags, tea and coffee and any tables and

chairs needed, parking, Guest WiFi.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

Please inform us of your intended arrival and departure times in advance so that we can ensure a member

of staff is available to open and close the building. On arrival, please press the buzzer by the door at unit 23.

You cannot gain access to the building via unit 24.

PARKING

We can arrange up to 4 parking spaces directly outside of the studio, however these must be booked ahead

of arrival by contacting Nathan on 0117 974 4320. We ask that you park within the bays marked ‘M’. Bicycle

racks are available at the front of the property. Please be aware that all vehicles and bikes are left at your

own risk.

ACCESS

We have a 9ft high / 10ft wide roller shutter door that leads directly from the outside parking into the main

studio.

STUDIO HOURS & OVERTIME

A day’s hire of the studio consists of 10 hours from 8:00 to 18:00, Monday – Friday. If you run over these

hours, overtime will be charged. If you suspect your production will run over, please let us know in advance.

We do offer flexible start times if required, please get in touch for more information. If weekend hire is

required, please get in touch.

COLORAMA

We have white, black, grey or chroma green coloramas available to hire (3.55m wide x 3m Length).

POWER

Single Phase x3 circuits. Each circuit has a 3.6kw limit, totalling 10.8 Kw available. 1 circuit runs on 13 amp

sockets, with 2 circuits running on 16 amp sockets. 3 Phase circuit pulls in 100 amps per phase (300 total)

via a 63 amp socket.

SOUND

The studio is acoustically treated with sound tiles offering excellent conditions to record sound. Although

the studio is not 100% sound proof, our location ensures that there is very minimal disruption throughout a

shoot, as we are on a quiet estate with no interference from main roads.

KIT STORAGE

Our studio is locked from the inside overnight, and the building is fitted with a comprehensive alarm

system. The building is also fitted with solid metal shutter doors for added security.

You’re more than welcome to arrange kit drop off the day before a shoot, as long as we don’t have a

booking in the studio. The same goes for the collection of kit, however, we would ask that any kit is

collected between 9 and 10 am the following day after your hire.

EQUIPMENT

If we do not have the equipment on site that you are looking for, then we are happy to assist in the hiring of

certain specialist items.

WASTE

Mendip Media will provide and dispose of one large wheelie bin bag per shoot/week for studio hires.

Additional waste, including set builds made by the client and props, must be disposed of by the client or will

be charged accordingly.

CONTRACTORS

We are happy to provide details of contractors for you to contact, should you require them.

SMOKING

Smoking is not permitted inside the building, but there is a designated smoking area at the rear of the

building accessed through the kitchen fire door. Please use the ashtray attached to the wall.

LUNCH & REFRESHMENTS

Tea and coffee is available free for all productions, however, you will be responsible for your own catering

during your production. We’re happy to recommend local catering companies or alternatively there are a

variety of lunch options nearby:

Bigger Baps sandwiches – A family owned sandwich shop offering a selection of hot and cold sandwiches

and baked potatoes. Located on nearby Parson Street.

Sainsbury’s – Superstore including petrol station. Located on Winterstoke Road.

Marks & Spencer’s Food – Located in Imperial Retail Park (see map on the next page).

Additionally, there is a snack van which comes to the trading estate at around 1pm.

THE KITCHEN

If you need a convenient and well-equipped space to prep food before it’s shot on set, then our prep kitchen

will provide you with 2 x ovens, gas hob with 5 rings, dishwasher, washing machine, Fridge freezer, extra

fridge, kitchen utensils and a bin including 1 x large bag of waste per shoot/week.

If the prep kitchen has not been hired for your production, we will still allow use of the fridge and microwave

for light lunches and personal use. However, if you use the kitchen to prepare food for your shoot, or use

the ovens or hob for personal use, you will incur the hire charge for use of the prep kitchen.

Please bear in mind that if you do not hire the kitchen then it will be treated as a shared space with Mendip

Media employees, and we would appreciate you leaving it clean and tidy as you found it, including all

washing up. It is vital that the worktops are kept clear and that the kitchen space is not used as office space for the

production.

KITCHEN SET

Our kitchen set comes with a mobile kitchen island, working gas hob, sink with pump fed tap, working

fridge freezer and a working oven.

DOMESTIC SETS

Our domestic sets include a bathroom/shower room, bedroom scene, living room scene. If bespoke sets

are required then we do offer set build services on site for more simple designs, or alternatively we can

bring in an experienced set build specialist for more elaborate creations.

PAINTING

You are welcome to paint walls / floors as you need for your production. All we ask is that you return to its

previous state afterwards (white walls & grey floor). If you’d prefer us to paint for you, then please get in

touch for costs.

PROPS

Extensive props cupboard available for hire.

FLOOR LIGHTING

As well as the 4 x space lights included in your dry hire, we have a selection of various Daylight and

Tungsten lighting available for hire - Aputure COB 300D Mark II LED + Neewer Hexadecagon Softbox

(Daylight), 2 x 4-bar Kino Flo Diva-lite (DL or T), 2 x 2-bar Kino Flo Diva-lite (DL or T), 1 x Arrilite 2000

(Tungsten), 1 x RX-24TDX 150w lightweight lamp roll-flex LED (DL or T)

ADDITIONAL STUDIO EQUIPMENT FOR HIRE

Sony 16” monitor, jib arm, 2 x c stand grip arm kits, Proline 17” teleprompter, sandbags, 5m aluminium

cross bar, Rhino 24” slider.

GREEN ROOM / WARDROBE (UPSTAIRS)

A great space available to hire, suitable for the talent to get ready and to relax, with adjacent shower room,

clothes rail, dressing table, large ‘Hollywood’ mirror, sofa, hair dryer and Wi-Fi.

MEETING ROOM

If you need additional space to work, or an additional wardrobe space then you are welcome to hire our

meeting room. This comes with Wi-Fi as standard and television upon request.
