We couldn’t really call the mini-heat wave we’ve just had an Indian Summer; it didn’t last long enough to qualify as a season. But it did get me thinking about how important the weather is in the success or otherwise of a video shoot.
There have been a couple of crucial schedules in the past year where the weather has had to be spot on to make the whole concept behind the video work. I’m thinking in particular of the product launch film of Honda’s HRX lawnmower. Without the perfect summer’s day we were blessed with, we would have struggled to make the whole work.
We have had to cancel shoots because of the weather; snow delayed filming the Peugeot 107 Verve. But our biggest test is the new contract with GO Outdoors to film product demos outside come rain or shine.
One thing’s for sure, we just keep learning all the time about how to make a video shoot come together on time and on budget!
